Workshops for parents of primary school children

We can contribute to reducing the number of violent, intolerant and other unacceptable forms of behaviour through preventive programs, preparing children for the opportunities and temptations they expect in their lives. This primarily includes the development of a positive self-image, self-esteem and self-confidence, the methods of non-violent conflict resolution and communication skills.

Apart from direct work with children, through workshops and counselling, it is always important to nurture a collaborative relationship with their parents. Our goal with parents in the program “Prevention of unacceptable behaviour of children” is to help them identify child problems that lead to unwanted forms of behaviour and awareness of the importance of adopting some specific knowledge and skills of communication with a child as well as the teachers and members of the professional team of the school.

Their impressions and feedback received after the workshops for parents strengthened us and encouraged to continue and persist in these activities.

These are some of the parents’ comments:

  • Great workshops for kids, we’re glad we’re in this programme. There should be more contents like this in the school.
  • It would be great to allow children to participate actively throughout the whole school year.
  • Great work and themes – keep going further.
  • Workshop topics are useful, and tips are even more useful.
  • I’m glad you work on this topic (family) today, when the family is in crisis.
  • Just continue with this kind of high-class lectures – all the compliments! Come again!
  • Keep doing this, working with children is always at the first place. Thank you!
