On the occasion of the International Social Work Day on March 21st, 2017, the Croatian Association of Social Workers (HUSR) organized, in cooperation with its member associations, a wide range of professional conferences, symposiums, public forums, round tables and other activities throughout Croatia. The aim was to point out the current social situation and empower the professional community to face the challenges of social work in our country.
At the central professional meeting, on March 21st, at the Hotel Dubrovnik, the HUSR awarded to social workers, institutions and civil society organizations that contributed to the development and affirmation of the profession of social work, whose work was recognized as a general good and of particular importance to the community.
Our Association received the Annual Award “Jakov Kudrić”, due to the quality of social services we provide and the innovativeness of our programmes in the best interest of our beneficiaries. Minister, Nada Murganić (Ministry for Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy) and Štefica Karačić (President of the HUSR) awarded the prize to our Executive director, Sanja Orešković Vrbanec.
We are exceptionally proud of the recognition to our Association, thanks to the Croatian Association of Social Workers and all other professionals who have recognized our quality and our work.
The award has further stimulated our enthusiasm and we continue to work with the same creativity, sensibility and strength for the benefit of children, families and professionals.
